48-HOUR CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING POLICY: New Beginnings Counselling provides regularly scheduled services to meet the needs of all our clients. Although some cancellations are unavoidable, we ask that your therapy time be a scheduled event in your weekly calendar.

Late Cancellation: Cancellations that occur with less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice, this is considered a late cancellation, and the provider will charge a Cancellation Fee to the Credit Card on file regardless of the appointment type scheduled. This payment is due at the time of the appointment change.

To cancel a scheduled session without a fee, we require more than 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations with 3-48 hours’ notice are subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations with 0-3 hours’ notice are subject to 100% of the appointment fee.

Rachel is a compassionate and experienced community-based Social Worker with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals, children, youth, and families through a wide range of life circumstances. She is currently completing her Master of Social Work (MSW) and holds a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), an Honours Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Social Development Studies, and a Social Service Worker diploma. She has also completed specialized training in mindfulness psychotherapy and trauma counselling for frontline workers.

Throughout her career, Rachel has developed experience across a variety of areas, including mental health, addictions, child welfare, housing and food insecurity, chronic illness and pain, crisis intervention, mindfulness, and counselling. These experiences have strengthened her ability to meet clients where they are, recognize the unique circumstances that shape their experiences, and provide thoughtful, individualized support.

Rachel takes an empathetic, collaborative, and strengths-based approach to counselling. She believes that meaningful change begins with creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. Her approach is primarily solution-focused, while incorporating therapeutic strategies and interventions that are appropriate to each client’s individual needs, goals, and circumstances.

Rachel is committed to practicing through an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and equity-focused lens. She values diversity and recognizes the importance of understanding each person’s unique identity, experiences, relationships, and environment when working toward positive change.

As part of New Beginnings Counselling’s Reduced Therapy Program, Rachel provides accessible counselling services while completing her MSW.* She works collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths, develop practical tools, navigate challenges, and build greater confidence in moving toward their personal goals and overall well-being.

Linda holds a dual registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Linda’s been in the field since 2007 and throughout her career she combined experience working in social and community services, hospitals, correctional facilities, the justice system, and with a diverse population encountering various challenges, life transitions, relationships, loss, homelessness, women’s health issues, mental health, and addiction.

Linda has an extensive educational history which includes a Master of Social Work (MSW), a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Bachelor of Arts Honours in Sociology (B.A), and a Diploma in Social Service Work, which future accentuates her qualifications and commitment to the field. Linda’s experience and knowledge helps build a strong therapeutic relationship which is pivotal in helping patients on their therapeutic journey.

Linda is also registered with the Ontario Association of Social Workers and has also volunteered with a variety of community agencies throughout the GTA such as Halton Women’s Place, Mission Services, and Good Shepherd.
